ARTICLE 13

NMA GEO-POLITICAL ZONES

1. (a) In pursuant of Article 12(1) a(ii) and h(iii) above, the seven NMA geo-political zones shall be applicable in the election of the following officers and appointment of Assistant Secretaries- General;
(i) President
(ii) Secretary-General
(iii) Seven Assistant Secretaries-General.
(b) There shall be Seven geopolitical Zones recognized by NMA as follows:
1. Lagos
2. North-Central
3. North-East
4. North-West
5. South-East
6. South-South
7. South-West
In the event of further state creation or fusion, such new States or resultant fusion shall fall into the Zones from which they emerged. FCT-Abuja shall not be a Zone but part of the North- Central.
(c) NEC shall decide which of the seven geo-political zones produces the President and Secretary-General both of whom shall always come from the same zone for administrative convenience and provided no zone shall have two consecutive slots.
